‘New ways to fall in love with Rome’ – that’s the title of an article in the latest issue of Lonely Planet Traveller – and that is exactly what journalist Oli Smith and I did on our recent assignment in the beautiful, eternal city.
We ventured to the Pope’s private gardens at Castel Gandolfo, cycled along the very bumpy Appian Way, mixed with some serious characters at a gladiator school and rode the backstreets of ancient Rome on the back of vintage Vespas.
How could you not fall in love with Rome I say!
